Someone's been a Busy Bee...
I admit it. I'm a sucker for writing lists, making plans and ticking boxes. And while some friends think I'm a bit over the top and kooky with it all, I guess it's the only way I can truly get things done while juggling my 9-5 and having a life (pssh, what life?). So as you can guess, a lot of thought went into how I wanted the video to turn out.

I felt like I had a head full of frogs at times. So many ideas were jumping around that I swear I was going a little loopy with excitement, stress and already envisaging how it was going to look. I wanted to somehow illustrate the lyrics with my video, with both shots of myself and in role as well as some sort of typographical animated element - but once we start talking animation, it inevitably means - where do I find the time? I had to start planning day by day how I would get everything finished for a launch in January 2015. By this point I was at October and time was already ticking.
These moodboards were pretty much the summary and contents of my brain and how I could see Sweet Talk in motion. Normally I find I seem to stray from the book with these sort of structured guidelines, but luckily, the video pretty much turned out the way I had seen it in my mind in early stages (minus the outside scenery shots!).

SWEET TALK
I'M BACK
I swear I begin ALL of my posts with a swift "it's been a while" but I'll skip my usual excuses and get straight to it... I've got a new song and a sickly sweet new video to go with it too. Surprising? Not really... we all know it's going to be a little OTT and twee.It was a whole big year ago when I posted my last music video, and how distant that feels, but with a little care and attention, tightening up on some co-ordinated time-management, let's hope this new song isn't going to be the first and last for a KatieCreative 2015.
LET'S GO
So, Sweet Talk. The first stop track for my Dizzy campaign. The first in a while of my Katie Creative music videos, created and filmed within the confines of her London bedroom. Basicallys, Sweet Talk is light-hearted and fun song about a very greedy boy who has a tendency to lead girls along with his persistent charm. However once he has them in his grip, he soon becomes bored and drops them like a hot potato!Want to read into this further? Here's my lyrics.
Punny? Yes. Lots of cheesy phrases? You know me too well...
SWEET TALK LYRICS
Now I don’t mean to sugar coat things,
You're so sweet, you make my heart sing!
But it’s no longer a fling.
And I don’t know what’s inside your mind.
I know you’re scared, you’re acting cruel to be kind.
But you oughta think twice.
'Cause for me it’s past the exterior.
As I fall for you, you’re getting wearier.
But you brought me here with that sweet talking,
And once I say it back, he soon starts walkin'...
He’s a kid in the candy shop,
Likes what he sees so doesn’t stop.
Then drops me like potato hot,
Then throws his words back in the pot.
So kids don’t play with your food,
Just cause you ain’t in the mood!
Cause a broken heart is hard to mend,
When greedy boys got no love to lend.
I know you’d like a slice of the cake,
It’s so brand new and freshly baked.
Seems so easy to take.
Now I see you playing with your plate,
Putting my heart at stake,
No more wine on this date...
Cause for you it’s all about the exterior.
No love, just buzz, mr mysterious.
We're here again, and you’re sweet talking,
Swizzel sticky eyes, I wanna poke my fork in!
oh monkey see, monkey do.
don’t kiss me, I’ll catch the flu.
Bananarama panoranama...
dizzy with indulgent drama.
Monkey see and monkey do,
Pack your bags cause we are through.

If you love Big Bang Theory, you'll love...
CHEMISTRY.
Here's my first song, Chemistry. A concoction of numerous elements, including quantum physics, times tables, tv series and the chemical reaction which brought my boyfriend and I together; Chemistry.
At the age of 17 I had always wanted to write a love song, but never quite had the courage do it without feeling a little queasy about sharing my feelings. So, I tried to be a little more light-hearted and practical... you could even say, scientific.
I began to think about what made us compatible - and what made us click!
You see, my boyfriend was a TV addict, and I was the complete opposite... However that one thing we could relate on was obviously our love of The Big Bang Theory.
So cheesy enough as it is, I made a music video in my bedroom and posted it on valentines day to share with him and the world...
I would never have thought it would get the response it did but I soon found myself leaping around my house with joy once it had hit 49,000 views from just 800 views in less than half a day!
Lyrics
We both love Big Bang Theory,
No quantum physics, just new series.
And I love you like constellations of the stars,
You're my Jupiter and I'll be your Mars.
Now I only know a thing or two,
Writing songs like this for you.
And I aint a scientist or a mathematical geek,
But one thing that I know, is pretty neat.
This love is like a calculation,
A funny lottle combination,
Of feelings and smiles,
Memories and miles.
This love is like a new equation,
Full of chemicals and complications,
The intricacy, it's you and it's me,
It's Chemistry.
Our love's a chemical explosion,
It's radioactive and it's glowing.
And I've loved you from the very first day,
So let's sing my theory, and we'll blow them all away.
This love is like a calculation,
A funny lottle combination,
Of feelings and smiles,
Memories and miles.
This love is like a new equation,
Full of chemicals and complications,
The intricacy, it's you and it's me,
It's Chemistry.
I still don't know my times tables,
But I know a thing or two.
I don't know much about this life,
But I just need one of you.
And I even wonder what our multiplication could be...
...The apples fallen from the tree,
Newton we've found gravity!
And here's the real reality...
This love is like a calculation,
A funny lottle combination,
Of feelings and smiles,
Memories and miles.
This love is like a new equation,
Full of chemicals and complications,
The intricacy, it's you and it's me,
It's Chemistry.
It's meant to be.

Feeling spontaneous...
So, I recently drew all over my guitar with a sharpie! *Gasp*.
And though being greeted by my mother with "what are you doing Katie?!?!?!?!"
shock horror - it came out like so.
I'd always wanted to add a personal touch to my guitar, and had always been inspired by the likes of Audrey Kawasaki who illustrates on wood. And being the impulsive person that I am, I one day decided to grab a permanent marker and hope that I could keep a steady hand.
